Anyone who saw the stage in the morning on 21st november would think that it's impossible to put up a stunning stage setting that night. But en hafiez, he's a man so confident with his ideas, so detailed, yet so relax and calm as if he has all the time for it. Of course, he was right, by noon we were all enchanted by the `site of the old Chinese village by the sea'.
Anyone who saw the backstage half an hour before the show began would think that it's impossible to put up any theatre performance that night. But these teachers of Genius Aulad, they are so deligent and so focussed . They could put on the children's make ups, with all sorts of costumes and various props for every single child, despite the noisy background of 500 young children! I repeat ,500 children. Though inside their heart, Allah knows how panic they are, they are just so focussed.
I can't remember how many kilometres I've been running to every corners of the auditorium that night. Even right before I start my speech, I was actually running to the backdoor near the banquet hall to carry a heavy platform to block the door from being opened as an entrance. There are indeed so so so many doors to the auditorium that I didn't know though I've been there a number of times to make our plan. A lesson for me to learn.
Finally, our theatre show , ZHENG HE: SHIP OF DREAMS was over and we received a big round applausssse.. So many many many parents congratulated us and told us how impressed they were. We even received their compliments through lots of sms that night. Some even said that our theatre quality every year are of the Istana Budaya standard. Well, I know we have once won the top winner at NTV7 Children's Grand Theatre Festival but these compliments....ouuch..it's quite heavy to handle. Meaning we are expected to keep up and up the standard every time.
Thank you, children. You are always so innocently marvellous.. I just can't wait to watch you in Malaysia Hari Ini , TV3 tomorrow morning and Layar Seni , RTM next Sunday. Abang abang Raihan also send their congrats to you that night.
Yes, it was indeed an impossible theatre works to be done with such a low budget of only RM38 for the WHOLE FAMILY, with such an exquisite stage setting (not to mention the XL-sized ship which can navigate at the lower stage!) , costume, props, external audio, lights, giant screen and back projector rental , soundtrack, large auditorium, video recording, and the list goes on. Extremely clear, it's not for money..
Allah knows, Allah knows. Allah is the one that makes the impossibles become possibles. Then opens the room for more possibilities for us to achieve our mission for our young Muslims.. Insya Allah.
